Advancement

Welcome to the home page for the department's Advancement Program. I am Linda Morse, the Development Officer for the Department of English.  This page is designed to help you learn about many opportunities for giving to the department and how your donations help us support our very best students, leading scholars, and important cultural activities.

As you probably know, nearly every department in the country depends significantly on help from its alumni and friends. We are no exception. On this page, you will find information about our major initiatives, biographies of our scholarship donors, and information about how to donate to the department either by mail or online.  At this time, our major departmental initiative is establishing a endowed lectureship in memory of Moyle Q. Rice, one of our most influential and memorable teachers.  You can find full information about the lectureship by clicking the link on the right.

If you have any questions or would like additional information, please feel free to contact me at (435) 797-0261 or by e-mail at lmorse@english.usu.eduI can give you complete information on providing immediate gifts of cash or materials important to the university as well as methods of considering us for gifts of cash or materials important to the university that will be delayed until sometime in the future. Often there are significant tax advantages to you for helping us. Perhaps the most considerable advantage to you is the knowledge that you will be helping us to increase the quality of our programs so that our students, often your own children or grandchildren, get the best education possible.

We appreciate your visiting and look forward to interacting with you in the near future.  We would like to extend an invitation for you to visit the department in person at any time.  We would be delighted to show you our facilities and discuss our programs. To see what we've been doing recently, we encourage you to visit What's New.
