PI SIGMA ALPHA

The Political Science Honor Society

Requirements

Pi Sigma Alpha is open to all students who have completed twelve credits in the area of Political Science and who have achieved high academic standing by earning a 3.2 GPA among these classes.

Benefits of Membership

Being an Honor Society, members of PSA earn academic recognition which may open them up to sholarships in graduate studies and other opportunities.  Students can engage in not only social events, but scholarly events as well.  We often invite members of government and those associated with them, local, state, and nationl to speak to us on a number of topics.  PSA offers chances to be in leadership positions if you choose to run for council.  Overall, being a part of Pi Sigma Alpha enhances applications and resumes while providing a social contact between achievement oriented students of Political Science and Law and Constitutional Studies.

Honors and Awards

Here at Utah State, our Alpha Iota Chapter has been rocognized nationally for its many efforts and successes.  Our Chapter was selected for one of the Best Chapter Awards given to a Division I school for the years of 1997-1998, 1999-2000, and 2002-2003...a very high honor.  Also, our Alpha Iota advisors William Furlong and Shannon Peterson, were chosen to recieve the award for Best Chapter Advisors 2002-2003.

The Distinguished Advisors of Pi Sigma Alpha, Bill Furlong and Shannon Peterson.
